Our dear friend Duane Dwyer of Strider Knives shipped us some SM-100 folders and fixed blades to heat treat for him. Here’s a before and after of the folders – fixed blades to follow soon. Not sure anyone can compete with Duane’s grinds!

So I talked Duane into sending me a picture of what he has in process so far for Blade, here is a shot of some of the fixed blades and the bar stock that will be available, hopefully folders will make it to the show as well. Can’t wait to see you all in Atlanta!

We had a cool and unique experience the other day when we got to us a Duane Dwyer SM-100 knife to open a package containing a Les George SM-100 blade blank. Two absolute masters for sure!

So we’ve spent so much time developing and making the coolest knife materials that embarrassingly we don’t really know how to make knives. So I camped out one night over at Strider’s shop in CA and ground my heart away (sometimes to the faint sound of laughter in the background – not sure what
that was all about!).
After assessing my skill set, Duane thought it best for me not to start out on SM-100, so I tackled CPM 3V instead.
Although I’ll probably never be a great knifemaker, it was a memory that I’ll never forget and really gave me invaluable insight into just what you all do on a daily basis.
Thanks Duane!
