No one is better than our man Elliot at using every last bit of SM-100 material that he has – and here he created a cool little blade with an awesome oxide pattern – hopefully he shares his secrets with all of us!
We can comment? Oh boy! This oxide pattern was pure luck, but I have this feeling that we might be able to use clay like in differential heat treat to control oxide patterns. I know I recomend letting Summit treat you blades, but I pick Fred Yolton’s brain enough to where I think I got this blade hardened. It is certainly less flexible and took and held an edge! I am sending it to Fred for testing.
